Race 2

Race 2 is an upcoming Bollywood action thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced under the Tips Music Films banner and is the first major release of the year. It is the sequel to the 2008 hit film, Race, and stars an ensemble cast that includes Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan reprising their roles as Robert D'Costa and Ranveer Singh from the previous film while Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel are new additions to the cast. Bipasha Basu will reprise her role of Sonia in a special appearance. The first trailer of Sajid Khan's Himmatwala will be released with the film. Unlike the first film, which got an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, Race 2 is expected to receive a 'U/A' certificate from the CBFC, as stated by Saif Ali Khan. Race 2 is scheduled to release on 25th January 2013.

Race 2 Critical Reception

IBN Live gave the soundtrack four stars of five saying, "Race 2's soundtrack is racy to the core. In a nutshell, the album is bound to be a hit. Let's just hope the movie is as good as the soundtrack is!" Shresht Poddar, of Score Magazine, gave the album three out of five stars saying, "Personally, as a standalone album with no biases, it is enjoyable but it could have done with better lyrics. The tracks are foot-tapping and they would appeal to the masses. But if you compare it to Race, the album undoubtedly falls flat." Goku, of IndiBeats! included the album in the 'average' category commenting that "No doubt Pritam has worked on the album well, there is a fair deal of DJing done, but something is amiss and hence the album is worth a hear, nothing more.

Khiladi 786

Khiladi 786 is a Bollywood action comedy film directed by Ashish R Mohan, featuring Akshay Kumar in the title role alongside Asin Thottumkal playing the female lead. The film also features Mithun Chakraborty, Raj Babbar, Mukesh Rishi and Himesh Reshammiya in supporting roles. The film marks the return of Akshay Kumar to his famous Khiladi film series after 12 years. The film is mostly shot in Mumbai and Punjab. It released on 7 December 2012, and received mixed response from critics. However, managed to do well at the box office. It it the eight installment in the Khiladi.

Khiladi 786 Casting

The film was announced to be releasing on 12 November 2012 on Diwali. However, the film's producer, Himesh Reshammiya reported casting issues therefore the film was delayed. In April 2012 Amitabh Bachchan was signed to play a main role in the film, however soon dropped out, and was replaced by Mithun Chakraborty. Claudia Ciesla was also roped in an special appearance to do an item-number in the film. Also, many rumors went out about the choice for the female leads. The choices included Ileana D'Cruz, Nargis Fakhri and Diana Penty. However, in June 2012, Asin was signed to play the leading lady of the film, putting all rumours to a stop.Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the film is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and the music is sold to T-Series, Eros Music and HR Musik. Lyrics are penned by Sameer, Shabbir Ahmed and Himesh Reshammiya. Also, Punjab's most popular rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh recorded the song "Lonely" for the film, and the song turned out to be widely popular specially amongst the youth. Famous singer Mika Singh also sang the song "Long Drive" for the film, which was even more popular. The soundtrack of the film was a huge success worldwide, and received 5 stars.

Dabangg 2

Dabangg 2 is a 2012 Bollywood action film directed and produced by Arbaaz Khan under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions. It's a sequel to the 2010 film Dabangg and is written by Dilip Shukla. The story is set in the city of Kanpur. The film features Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha reprising their roles from the previous film, whilst Prakash Raj plays the antagonist.

Development of the project commenced after the release of Dabangg, which turned out to be a blockbuster in India. Filming began on 9 March 2012 at Kamalistan Studios in Mumbai and it released on 21 December 2012. The first look poster was unveiled on 8 November 2012 whilst the theatrical trailer was premiered on 10 November 2012, on Khan's reality show Bigg Boss 6. Its trailer was also released in cinemas on the day of Diwali along with Son of Sardaar. The film received mixed to negative reviews from critics in India and negative reviews from critics overseas. The film opened strongly upon release and went on to break the three-day record set by Ek Tha Tiger by netting around 58.26 crore (US$10.6 million) in India. Dabangg 2 has become third highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in India and worldwide.Dabangg 2 is the second-highest grossing film of 2012 after Ek Tha Tiger. Box Office India declared the film a "Blockbuster" in India after its first week and a "Superhit" overseas.

 Dabangg 2 Plot

Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) is transferred to Kanpur where he is in charge of the local police station. A rich schoolboy is kidnapped by thugs and Chulbul Pandey rescues him from a warehouse after beating up the gang of kidnappers. However Chulbul takes the ransom money for himself.

Somewhere in Kanpur, an assassin hired by Bachcha Bhaiya (Prakash Raj) murders a witness who was about to testify against him. Chulbul tracks the assassin down and kills him in a brawl at a local cafe. Bachcha decides to ignore the threat posed by Pandey because he is trying to get elected into the local government. After several public altercations, Bachcha's brother convinces him to get rid of Pandey. Bachcha's brother threatens Chulbul's stepfather and says if Chulbul does not stop interfering with Bachcha's criminal activities, he will kill his whole family.

Bachcha's brother then harasses a local girl who is about to get married. He says that he will not allow her to get married to anyone other than him. Chulbul Pandey stops Bachcha's brother from abducting the bride during her wedding and kills him by breaking his neck. Bachcha Bhaiya promises to avenge the death of his brother.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Jab Tak Hai Jaan - Jab Tak Hai Jaan (English: As Long as There is Life), also known as JTHJ, is a 2012 Indian romance film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner Yash Raj Films. The film features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, making it the first film to pair Khan and Kaif and the second collaboration between Khan and Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. It was Yash Chopra's fourth film to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead role, the former returning as a director after eight years post Veer-Zaara, which released in 2004. Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Yash Chopra's last directorial venture before his death on 21 October 2012. The background score and soundtrack were composed by A.R. Rahman, while the lyrics penned by Gulzar. The film released during the six-day Diwali weekend that began on 13 November 2012.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan received positive to mixed reviews from critics in India and positive reviews from critics overseas. It also opened well at the box office. Various websites have opined that the film might have drawn inspiration from the Graham Greene novel The End of the Affair. Box Office India declared the film a "hit" in India and a "blockbuster" overseas.However, the film's production company called it a "worldwide blockbuster". Jab Tak Hai Jaan is the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time overseas after My Name Is Khan and 3 Idiots.The film has since emerged as one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time worldwide.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan won many awards and received multiple nominations. The accolades were for the performances by the lead actors, particularly Shahrukh Khan. Conversely, the film's lead actresses were nominated at the Golden Kela and Ghanta awards because critics felt that the acting by Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif was not up to par.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Plot

Samar Anand (Shahrukh Khan), a major in the Indian Army, defuses a bomb showing no fear or regard for personal safety. After a while, Akira Rai (Anushka Sharma), a Discovery Channel filmmaker, dives into a river in Ladakh and is rescued by the major. Samar gives her his jacket but leaves before retrieving it. Akira finds his diary in the jacket pocket and starts reading.

The diary recounts Samar's earlier years as a struggling immigrant in London. He worked as a musician and found other menial jobs to support him and his roommate. One day Samar is offered work as a part-time waiter where he meets Meera  during her engagement party. In exchange for English lessons, Samar agrees to teach her how to sing. In the process, Samar and Meera fall in love. On the day Meera is supposed to tell her father about their relationship, Samar gets into a terrible accident. Meera prays to God to save his life and makes a vow to never meet him again. Soon Samar makes a speedy recovery and comes to know about the vow. In anger he tells her to go away and leaves London. Samar challenges God to keep him alive while he will risk his life everyday because he believes his death is the only way to make Meera lose her faith in the deity who stole his love. He goes to India and enlists in the Indian Army.

As Akira finishes reading the diary, she requests her supervisor to make a documentary about a bomb disposal squad and is granted permission. She approaches Samar for help and soon gets acquainted with him and his team. She starts showing romantic feelings towards Samar but he refuses to reciprocate due to his past. Akira makes the film successfully and departs for London, earning praise for her work. However, to launch the film, she needs Samar to visit the city. After she extensively tries to persuade a reluctant Samar, he finally agrees to come to London, but is hit by a car upon arrival.

Samar is diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, remembering only the events before his first accident a decade ago. Akira tracks down Meera and persuades her to aid in Samar's recovery. Meera agrees and pretends to be Samar's wife. During this time, Akira realizes that Major Samar is only a fragment of the young Samar. He used to be a jubilant social man but is now a bitter lonely individual. One day Samar comes across a bomb planted in the London Underground and helps defuse it. This event triggers his memory and he realizes Meera was lying to him. Samar confronts Meera and gives her a choice, either be with him or he will keep on risking his life until he is dead. Samar departs for Kashmir where he continues defusing bombs. During a conversation with Akira, Meera realizes that her beliefs and prayers subjected Samar to a fate worse than death. Meera, realizing her mistake, travels to Kashmir where they reunite. Samar defuses his last bomb and proposes to her on the spot.

Khan's role in the film spans two ages, one at the age of 28 as a musician based in London and the other at the age of 38 as an introverted, composed, dutiful army officer in Kashmir. Samar is angry, unforgiving, and has loads of emotional baggage. He is a combination of angst, tenderness and anger.

Katrina Kaif as Meera Thappar

Meera is the archetypal Yash Chopra seductress, an unattainable beauty. Kaif was reported to have put in a significant amount of work to make her character believable, and was helped by Khan, who had prior experience with the director.

Anushka Sharma as Akira Rai

Akira is a 21 year old who works for the Discovery Channel and makes documentaries. She is on the quest to discover the truth behind the story of The Man Who Cannot Die in the film. She is extremely ambitious and would do anything to make it big and realize her dreams. It was initially rumored that Sharma would be seen in an extended cameo appearance but this was refuted by the actress in the interview.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Development

In June 2011, Yash Raj Films released a statement announcing a new directorial venture by Yash Chopra which would coincide with the 50th anniversary of his career in Bollywood. The producers also announced that the film would release on the Diwali 2012 weekend. Yash Chopra stated that the film was untitled at that time, similar to his previous project Veer-Zaara which was named on the day of its submission to the Central Board of Film Certification. The producers had considered a variety of options for the title but were reportedly not satisfied with any of them. In September 2012, it was officially announced that the title of the movie was Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The title seeming to have been inspired from a song of a similar name from the 1975 hit film Sholay.

Initially the film's principal photography was expected to commence in November 2011 but had to be delayed since Khan wanted to take a break after his two releases in 2011, Ra.One and Don 2. Principal photography officially began on 9 January 2012 at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, where a significant portion of the film was also shot.

The music and the background score for the film were composed by A.R. Rahman, who teamed up with Yash Chopra for the first time. The soundtrack features nine tracks with eight song lyrics penned by Gulzar and the title poem written by Aditya Chopra. The audio was released on YRF Music. It received positive critical reception upon release.

Mumbai Mirror

Mumbai Mirror is an upcoming 2013 Indian Hindi film directed by Ankush Bhatt starring Sachiin J Joshi, Prakash Raj, Gihana Khan, Vimala Raman, Aditya Pancholi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Raja Bherwani and Prashant Narayanan. The movie exposes the nexus between powerful, corrupt dance bar owners and the Mumbai police. Mumbai Mirror is scheduled to release on 18 January 2013.

After his debut in Aazaan, Sachiin J Joshi plays a quirky cop in this realistic commercial potboiler.Mallika Sherawat who agreed to play the lead opposite Sachiin J Joshi, has walked out of the project.Sachiin J Joshi also made an allegation in Press about Mallika Sherawat being unprofessional. Later Gihana khan was chosen as female lead. Earlier it was reported that Nana Patekar was approached to play the main villain, but Prakash Raj has been signed on for the pivotal role.

Mumbai Mirror  Soundtrack

The soundtrack of Mumbai Mirror is composed by Amjad Nadeem and the album contains six tracks. Musicperk.com rated the album 6.5/10 quoting "Average album. Definitely not one of the best".

Bollywood portal Films of India said, "Mumbai Mirror is definitely watchable for its great script and superb performances. It's 3.5/5 for Mumbai Mirror for investigating a decaying law enforcement system pushed to bask in the silent approval of its questionable ways.
